The Skaters

We marvel at their talents on the track.  We are in awe of their speed, their power, and grace.  We often forget the skaters are people too.

As we remember the great skaters of roller derby history, we remember red shirt villains and home town white shirt favorites.  Their exploits are as alive today as during those glorious moments we saw them on the banked track.

As the years roll back, like a curtain in our memories, we can read the stories and memoirs of the skaters themselves.  We learn of their loves and losses, their triumphs and tragedies, their leaps to fame and the pain of falling.
